"A Quick Faron Young Story"
Faron was sitting across the kitchen table from us in our motorhome.
We were parked behind the stage of a show we were doing together.
Faron said to Misty, "You know, I think you're the best female singer in Nashville."
She smiled and graciously accepted the compliment.
That was followed by a long uncomfortable silence.
We all knew I was waiting for my compliment.
It just hung there.
Finally, when he couldn't stand it anymore, Faron looked at me and said:
"I can say one thing for you. Three seconds into the record you know who it is."
That was good enough for me. I'm still bragging about it.
